Improve your mental health & wellbeing

Welcome

A little about what we do

Hello and a warm welcome to our integrative counselling practice based in Bury St. Edmunds, the heart of Suffolk. We offer talking therapy and have rooms in both the town centre itself and in the nearby countryside.

We have adapted our therapeutic approach to offer a valuable alternative to face-to-face sessions in the current Covid19 pandemic. By extending our knowledge to also incorporate online and telephone work, we are able to continue to offer you a service across the working week, evenings & weekends that helps to meet and improve your mental health and wellbeing needs, whilst keeping you safe and complying with the current guidelines.

“For when I have been listened to and I know I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on”

Hello there, and  warm welcome to you and whatever is bringing you to this page. I understand how taking the brave first steps in counselling can feel really hard. Before going any further, you may be curious  to know a little about me. I am flawed, perhaps we all are when we look closely. I have spent time trying to work out what interpersonal relationships are about and what causes human distress, which led my pathway into training to become a counsellor.

My origins are in Yorkshire and I have spent many years in Norfolk and Suffolk. My favourite pastime is being outdoors, my walking boots are never far from me, a beautiful landscape feels like free art to me. I am married and spending time with my blended family is important. I enjoy painting, dancing, old buildings, and sometimes simply doing nothing.

Welcome to my page and thank you for being curious about the possibility of our working together. Reaching out for help takes enormous courage. I know.

My name is Helen, I am married and live in a quiet Suffolk village with my husband and teenage sons. A life shaping diagnosis brought me to therapy and to a career as a counsellor. Being in nature has always been my greatest source of peace and remains one of the cornerstones to my wellbeing. I grew up amongst the fruit orchards of Kent and still love nothing more than walking or running freely outdoors.
